Why choose our 4m solid composite decking boards

Thanks to its reversible, dual-sided design - with an authentic woodgrain effect on one side and low-slip narrow grooves on the other - you have the flexibility to choose the finish that best complements your outdoor space.

A popular choice for commercial and high-traffic environments, these solid-core boards deliver outstanding strength, structural integrity, and load-bearing capacity. Their enhanced sound absorption also makes them ideal for cafés, restaurants, terraces, and other public spaces.

Cladco 4m solid composite decking boards are made from 60% recycled hardwood fibres and 40% high-grade recycled plastics, bonding agents, additives, and tints. Part of our Signature range, these boards offer outstanding performance and come with a 15-year warranty for added peace of mind.

As part of the Signature range, we offer a complete selection of trims and fixings, including skirting trims, corner trims, fascia boards, and bullnose boards, to help you achieve a professional, cohesive finish.

or efficient installation and consistent spacing, particularly at butt joints, we recommend using T-clips. These fixings make installation easier and help ensure effective drainage between boards, reducing the risk of standing water. For a sleeker appearance, hidden clips are also available, allowing for tighter, less visible board gaps.

When compared to traditional timber decking boards, all of our composite decking boards require minimal maintenance and are easy to clean when necessary with the use of our ultimate decking cleaner. No staining, painting or varnishing is required to keep your composite decking looking its best for years to come. For long-term appearance and care, we also suggest using composite wood reviver to maintain your decking’s appearance.

Natural variations in colour and weathering are to be expected with composite decking due to its timber content. After installation, the boards will undergo a colour stabilisation process, influenced by factors such as sunlight exposure and local weather conditions.

For the most consistent results, we recommend ordering all your composite decking boards in a single purchase, as colours may vary between production batches. Even within the same batch, slight shade differences can occur. To help achieve a more blended appearance, lay out all boards prior to installation, identify any tonal variations, and mix them accordingly. Please also note that boards may appear different in wet and dry conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know how much decking I need?

Simply enter the dimensions of the area you wish to deck into our online decking calculator to work out how many boards and additional composite extras you will need.

Why does my decking appear darker under my furniture?

Composite decking requires time to acclimatise to outdoor environments. During the stabilisation period of around six months, sections of your decking that are not exposed to weathering, such as areas under furniture, will not weather at the same rate as the rest of your decking. If you expose these areas to the natural elements, they will gradually even out in colour as the previous boards have.

Why are watermarks appearing on my decking?

Watermarks are a common occurrence during the weathering process of composite products. As the tannins in the timber content of the boards come out, watermarks may appear. This is a temporary condition, and the marks will fade naturally as the decking stabilises over time.

Will plant pots leave stains on my decking?

Due to the porous nature of composite decking, prolonged contact with plant pots may cause staining. We recommend placing a mat underneath any pots to prevent this. This precaution should also be taken for other garden furniture.

Does my decking colour choice affect maintenance requirements?

If you choose to go for one of our lighter colours, such as ivory, your Signature decking is more likely to show dirt. To avoid this, you may need to clean your decking more often than if you were to choose a darker colour.

What are the benefits of a solid construction?

The solid makeup of these Signature composite boards is an increase in both strength and sound absorption, making the boards particularly suitable for commercial settings with increased footfall.

Is colour variation normal?

Yes. Due to the timber content, natural variations in colour and weathering are expected. These changes will stabilise over time based on sunlight exposure and weather conditions.

How can I minimise colour differences during installation?

There are multiple ways to manage colour differences in your Signature composite decking boards:

  • Order all boards at the same time to reduce batch variation
  • Lay out boards before installation
  • Mix boards with varying shades to achieve a consistent appearance

Why is it necessary to leave expansion gaps between composite decking boards?

Our Signature composite boards consist of 60% recycled timber. Due to the natural properties of timber, the boards expand and contract with temperature changes. Leaving appropriate expansion gaps between boards allows for this movement, reducing the risk of warping or splitting caused by restricted space. Adequate board spacing also facilitates cross ventilation, ensuring the longevity and stability of your decking.
